Royal Caribbean has officially pulled the curtain on Hero of the Seas, the fourth vessel in the record-breaking Icon Class and one of Royal Caribbean's most ambitious ships to date. Scheduled to debut in August 2027 from PortMiami, Hero will carry guests through 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, with every sailing stopping at Perfect Day at CocoCay, the line's private island in the Bahamas.
At 248,663 gross tons, Hero matches its siblings in sheer scale but carves out its own identity with a slate of new-to-the-class additions: the Ultimate Family Treehouse that sleeps 12, a jazz-infused Cajun supper club, the first-ever funnel raft slide at sea, and hands-on cooking classes for families. Packed with record-setting features like nine pools, the most at sea, Hero raises the bar once again.
The ship keeps the eight-neighborhood layout that defined Icon, Star, and Legend of the Seas, but several neighborhoods receive meaningful upgrades. Central Park returns with its signature 30,000-plus real plants. Surfside, the dedicated family neighborhood, gains a cooking-class venue. AquaDome's Market food hall debuts four new stall concepts.

The menu moves through multi-course Cajun and Creole dishes: gumbo ladled tableside, blackened redfish, shrimp and grits finished with a tasso ham cream.
